Conjunto de ecoviviendas y usos mixtos agropecuarios Calama
Project: Landscape & Urbanism
Software: Revit, Unreal engine, Photoshop, after effects
This project explores the reconfiguration of the agro-urban edge as a transitional landscape capable of connecting ceremonial, social, and productive flows within the western sector of Likantatay, in Calama, Antofagasta Region, Chile. The proposal understands the border condition not as a limit, but as an active space of exchange between the urban fabric, agricultural production, and the cultural memory of the territory.
The intervention is conceived as a mixed-use agroproductive community composed of eco-housing, collective infrastructure, and agricultural spaces that coexist through sustainable environmental strategies adapted to the desert context of northern Chile. Water management, productive landscapes, shaded public spaces, and passive climate systems become essential components of the architectural and urban design.
The project seeks to strengthen local identity by integrating ceremonial routes and communal spaces that recover the relationship between inhabitants, land, and ancestral traditions. Through a flexible and resilient spatial system, the proposal promotes social interaction, local food production, and ecological balance, creating a new model of agro-urban living for the Atacama territory.
