“E-Co-Scalo” is a project that promotes new forms of living in the urban fabric of Milan Rogoredo. It is a diffuse urban catalyst, which, starting from the existing traces of the neighbourhood, defines new directions for a sustainable, inclusive and vital development of the area.

The intervention relates with the railway through a green filter that cushions its impact and increases its liveability. This green “barrier” is structured as a linear park that reinserts an urban ecosystem capable of reducing the acoustic and visual pollution caused by the railway, thus increasing the liveability of the residences and the new public interventions.

A green filter that is capable, at the same time, of enhancing biodiversity. The spread of buildings, and their consequent variety, means that E-Co-Scalo has a lively relationship between public and private spaces. In fact, ever-changing urban situations are created that reflect the many needs of people: equipped squares, children’s playgrounds, sports areas, urban gardens, communal areas, commercial and productive areas.

The variety of uses and economic offerings attracts different people, fostering an atmosphere of inclusiveness, tolerance, but above all providing the basis for the creation of a collective civic sentiment that is indispensable for the resilience of the intervention.
